Woodland Academy

WE SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF CHILDHOOD

Woodland began as an idea back in 1993 and came to life in 2008.  Since then it has grown into a thriving center where children are loved, cared for and respected as capable and competent people!

Woodland is family owned by Cheryl and Rob Starek.  They have been long time Rogers residents and strong, community servants and activists.  Cheryl has been a change agent for local school districts and the state's education system working to bring about change in classrooms all over our state.  It's no wonder Woodland's classrooms are teaming with creative, imaginative learning, immeasurable social emotional support and foundational Biblical teaching.

As parents, foster parents and Sunday school teachers, Cheryl and Rob have been supporting children and families.  Cheryl is a champion for families and is often coaching and counseling moms and dads on the "next steps" as moms and dads living out all that God has in store for them.

Prioritizing Safety Above All Else

Parents want the peace of mind knowing that we are doing every thing we possibly can to help their children feel safe, nurtured and loved during these unprecedented times..

Focusing on Social Emotional Health and Well-being

Parents and faculty partner together to scaffold children as they grow and become ALL that God has called them to be!  We work to develop social and emotional health, strong communication skills and the ability to self-regulate.

Learning in a Child Led Environment

Our expert staff of degreed/certified teachers follow your child as he explores ideas and wonderings. That careful observation allows them to weave in developmentally appropriate concepts like learning of letters, numbers, colors and other academic concepts throughout your child's daily play and project work..

WE SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF CHILDHOOD.

"Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water.  Through an active reciprocal exchange,

teaching can strengthen...

...learning how to learn."
